ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – A 55-year-old man from Michigan died in a motorcycle crash Tuesday night on U.S. 1, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near Pine Tree Drive. FHP officials reported that the motorcyclist was traveling south in the northbound inside lane when he collided with a northbound sedan driven by a 46-year-old man from Palm Coast.
The motorcycle struck the sedan just south of Pine Tree Drive. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while the sedan driver was unharmed. Authorities indicated that the sedan driver was wearing a seat belt, whereas the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.
The investigation remains ongoing, according to FHP.
