New Castle, DE – Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Rte 1 N Crash at Toll Plaza
A serious motorcycle accident occurred on Route 1 North at the Toll Plaza in New Castle at approximately 5:30 p.m. on October 5.
Authorities reported that two vehicles were involved in the incident, which resulted in critical injuries for the motorcyclist. Emergency response teams from the New Castle County paramedics and the Delaware State Police were dispatched to the scene.
The motorcyclist, a 34-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Two other individuals involved in the crash sustained minor injuries but did not require hospital care.
According to eyewitnesses, the crash blocked the right lane of the highway, leading to significant traffic delays in the area. Authorities confirmed that the road was closed for over an hour while investigators documented the scene and cleared the wreckage.
