BETHEL, Maine (WGME) — A 49-year-old motorcyclist sustained serious injuries after a collision with a van Tuesday morning in Bethel.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m. near Mayville Road and North Road. According to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, a 43-year-old Bethel man driving the van attempted a left turn onto North Road, leading to the collision.
Authorities reported the motorcyclist suffered severe lower extremity injuries. He was first taken to Stephens Memorial Hospital before being transferred via LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center in Portland.
The van driver reportedly did not suffer any injuries. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
