ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in a collision with a car at an intersection on the southwest side on Tuesday night.
The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of Bartlett Street and Reynolds Street. According to Rochester Police, the car was turning onto Reynolds Street when it struck the motorcycle, leaving both vehicles significantly damaged and debris scattered at the scene.
Emergency responders transported the motorcyclist to Strong Memorial Hospital. Authorities stated that he is expected to survive his injuries. The car initially fled the scene but the driver later called 911. Police reported that she is cooperating with the investigation and there were no signs of impairment.
The driver has been charged with aggravated unlicensed operation. Rochester Police are continuing their investigation into the crash.
Lane closures were reported during the response but have since been cleared.
