Motorcyclist Sustains Severe Burns in Route 66 Crash in Marlborough, According to Fire Department.

Marlborough, MA — A motorcycle crash resulted in significant burns to the driver early Monday morning on Route 66, authorities reported.

Firefighters responded to the incident at the intersection of North Main Street and South Main Street around 12:15 a.m. Upon arrival, first responders and bystanders reported two individuals were on fire, which were extinguished swiftly by those at the scene.

The motorcycle driver, who sustained serious burns to the lower extremities, was transported by ambulance and later transferred to LifeStar for specialized treatment at a regional burn center. The passenger received evaluation for burn injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. Further details regarding lane closures or tows were not immediately available.
