Mulberry Man Charged with DUI Manslaughter Following Fatal Hillsborough County Crash.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A Mulberry man was arrested Friday morning for DUI manslaughter following a fatal motorcycle crash on State Road 60, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The incident occurred around 6:45 a.m. near Clarence Gordon Jr. Road. A GMC Sierra, driven by 59-year-old Santiago Ruiz Rangel, exited a private driveway and collided with a westbound Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by a 44-year-old Bartow man.

The impact resulted in the motorcycle rider’s death at the scene. Authorities reported Rangel’s blood alcohol content was 0.170, more than twice Florida’s legal limit.

Rangel was arrested and subsequently booked into Hillsborough County Jail. The investigation is ongoing, and lane closures were implemented during the response and cleanup efforts, according to FHP.
