A 32-year-old Muskegon man sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle accident Thursday night at Apple Avenue and Mill Iron Road.
According to Michigan State Police, the crash occurred around 9:31 p.m. The motorcyclist was riding a 2002 Harley-Davidson Sportster 883 north on Mill Iron Road when he made a left turn onto Apple Avenue, where he was struck by a 2019 Chevrolet Impala driven by a 19-year-old Muskegon man.
The motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet and was transported to Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital. The driver of the Impala and his two passengers were uninjured.
Authorities indicated that alcohol is suspected to have contributed to the collision, but they have not identified who may have been under the influence. The investigation is ongoing.
Emergency responders from Trinity Ambulance, Muskegon Township Police Department, and Muskegon County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
