MILLER, S.D. (Local News Wire) – A two-vehicle crash on Monday, July 21, resulted in the death of a Miller man.
Caleb Schuette, 34, was driving a 2001 Buick LeSabre north on West Park Avenue when he failed to yield at a stop sign, entering the intersection with US Highway 14. A semi traveling eastbound on Highway 14 collided with the Buick.
The impact sent the Buick into the northwest ditch, while the semi came to a stop in the eastbound lanes. This closure lasted approximately five hours.
Schuette sustained fatal injuries in the crash, while the semi driver was not injured.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. Authorities noted that all information released thus far is preliminary.
