BON HOMME COUNTY, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – A two-car crash near Tyndall on Monday left one person dead and another with life-threatening injuries.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 2:41 p.m. when a Ford F-250, driven by 36-year-old Dustin Bothwell of Colman, was traveling north on SD Highway 37.
Simultaneously, a Honda Pilot, operated by 45-year-old Yeon Yu Choi of Omaha, Nebraska, stopped in the westbound lane on SD Highway 52 before entering the intersection, where it was struck by the Ford.
Bothwell and Choi, along with a passenger in the Honda, 35-year-old Yoo Lim Kim of Omaha, were transported to Tyndall Hospital, where Choi succumbed to her injuries.
Kim was airlifted to a hospital in Sioux Falls due to life-threatening injuries, while Bothwell sustained minor injuries.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, and the scene has been cleared.
