Napa County: Southbound State Highway 29 Reopens Following Major Injury Motorcycle Collision.

A motorcyclist sustained major injuries after a collision with an SUV in Napa County on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at 10:20 a.m. at the intersection of North and South Kelly roads and Jameson Canyon Road, also known as state Highway 12. Authorities said the motorcyclist allegedly ran a red light, leading to the crash.

Emergency services transported the rider to a hospital for treatment of significant injuries, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) spokesperson Marc Renspurger. The SUV driver was not injured but reported burn damage to the vehicle’s front end due to the motorcycle catching fire upon impact.

Southbound lanes of state Highway 29 and eastbound Jameson Canyon Road were closed for several hours, reopening around 12:30 p.m. The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
