Nebraska Man Killed in Motorcycle Collision with Semitruck in Fremont County
FREMONT COUNTY, Iowa — A Nebraska man died Thursday morning after his motorcycle collided with a semitruck on Highway 2.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, Andrew Boardman, 38, from Nehawka, was traveling west just before 7 a.m. Witnesses reported that a semitruck, driven by 38-year-old Margie Castro of Houston, Texas, was traveling east on Highway 2 when it attempted to turn left onto the northbound I-29 on-ramp.
Authorities stated that the semitruck failed to yield to Boardman, resulting in a collision with the truck’s right side. Emergency medical responders pronounced Boardman dead at the scene.
The incident prompted lane closures on Highway 2 for several hours as authorities conducted their investigation. The Iowa State Patrol is leading the investigation into the crash.
