Nevada Sees 9 Percent Decrease in Traffic Deaths in 2025 Compared to 2024.

Nevada Traffic Deaths Drop to Lowest in Three Years

According to the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety, 381 traffic-related fatalities occurred across the state in 2025, the fewest since 2021.

The number reflects a 9 percent decrease from the 420 deaths recorded in 2024. Authorities reported 361 fatal crashes leading to these fatalities. In Clark County, deaths also declined to 239, a 19 percent drop from 296 in 2024.

Vehicle occupant deaths in Clark County fell by 29 percent to 85. Additionally, fatalities among unbelted vehicle occupants decreased by nearly 6 percent, from 36 in 2024 to 34 in 2025.

Pedestrian fatalities dropped statewide to 111, down nearly 3 percent from 114 the previous year. Meanwhile, motorcyclist deaths remained unchanged at 83. Bicyclist fatalities rose slightly from 16 in 2024 to 17 last year, including the tragic death of a 12-year-old girl struck by a school bus.

Andrew Bennett, director of the Clark County Office of Traffic Safety, acknowledged the overall reduction in deaths but emphasized the need for ongoing safety measures. “The 239 is still way too many,” he stated. “It’s the largest decrease since 2012.”

Washoe County experienced a significant increase in road fatalities, rising 38 percent from 50 in 2024 to 69 in 2025. Conversely, Nye County reported a 55 percent decrease, with five fatalities last year compared to 11 in 2023.

Officials continue to stress the importance of safe driving practices as a means to further reduce road deaths.
