Driver Arrested for DUI Following Crash on Route 1 in Yarmouth

YARMOUTH, ME — A driver was arrested for operating under the influence following a multi-vehicle accident on Route 1 at approximately 10:15 p.m. on June 15.

According to the Yarmouth Police Department, the collision involved three vehicles: a Toyota Prius, a Ford F-150, and a Honda Civic. Two individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Maine Medical Center.

Emergency response included the Yarmouth Police and Fire Departments, who managed the scene and directed traffic. Authorities confirmed that two lanes of Route 1 were closed for nearly two hours during the response and cleanup.

The driver of the Prius was taken into custody and charged with operating under the influence. The investigation into the accident is ongoing, according to officials.
