Motorcyclist Killed in Crash Near Big Sky Identified
BIG SKY, Mont. — A June 6 crash on MT-64 claimed the life of 37-year-old Mary Medford from Las Cruces, New Mexico, confirmed the Montana Highway Patrol (MHP).
According to authorities, Medford lost control of her motorcycle while negotiating a turn and went off the roadway. She was not wearing a helmet when she struck her head on the pavement.
The motorcycle and rider came to rest on the right side of the road. Emergency responders arrived but were unable to revive Medford, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation, with MHP stating it is unclear if drugs, alcohol, or speed played a role.
Sheriff Springer extended condolences to Medford’s family and friends during this difficult time.
