NHP Seeks Blue Semi-Truck Following Fatal Early-Morning Crash on I-80 in Sparks.

Sparks, NV — Authorities are investigating a fatal bicycle collision that occurred on westbound I-80 early Saturday morning.

At approximately 5:10 a.m. on January 24, a man riding a bicycle was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle just east of Vista Boulevard, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. His identity has not yet been released.

The westbound lanes of I-80 were closed for about three hours as emergency responders worked to clear the scene and gather evidence. The roadway has since reopened and traffic is flowing normally.

Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance to locate a blue semi-truck, possibly a Kenworth, that may have been involved in the incident. They report that the truck may have damage to its right front and could display unit number “122” in white lettering.

Anyone with information regarding the crash or a damaged semi-truck in the area is urged to contact the Nevada Highway Patrol.
