Nine Killed in Multiple Vehicle Accidents Across Arkansas Since August 27
Arkansas State Police reported nine fatalities resulting from eight motor vehicle accidents between August 27 and August 29, 2026.
The first incident occurred on August 27 at 3:30 p.m. on Interstate 40 near the 125-mile marker in Faulkner County, where a three-vehicle crash claimed the life of 35-year-old Wendy White of Russellville. Two others were injured and transported to Baptist Hospital.
On August 27 at 7:58 a.m., a head-on collision at South 26th Street and South Fitzroy Place in Rogers resulted in the death of 28-year-old Lilibeth Martinez. The driver of the other vehicle, 60-year-old Ramon Esparza-Flores of Rogers, was injured and taken to Mercy Hospital Rogers.
On August 29 at 1:10 p.m., a 61-year-old pedestrian, Thomas Remillard of Nashville, Tennessee, was struck and killed by an SUV on Interstate 55 near Blytheville. The driver, 31-year-old Joshua Hill of Dyersburg, Tennessee, was injured and transported to Great River Medical Center.
Another fatal crash on August 29 at 10:45 a.m. involved 56-year-old Anthony David Carrillo, who was ejected from his motorcycle in Newton County. His passenger, 49-year-old Sugey Madrigal of Colusa, California, was injured and taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
Additionally, a three-vehicle collision on August 28 at 2:32 p.m. on U.S. 63 in Lawrence County resulted in two unidentified fatalities and injuries to the occupants of a Ford F59. The investigation is ongoing, and weather conditions were clear across all incidents.
Authorities are conducting investigations into each accident, with Troopers from the Arkansas State Police leading the inquiries.
