BEAR LAKE COUNTY, Idaho — A 22-year-old man died Friday morning in a head-on collision between his motorcycle and an SUV on Minnetonka Cave Road.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:22 a.m. west of St. Charles, according to Idaho State Police. The man, riding a white Kawasaki KLX110 motorcycle eastbound, collided with a tan Jeep Liberty driven by a 66-year-old woman from Montpelier, Idaho, who was traveling west.
Authorities reported that the rider was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene. The Jeep driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, did not require hospitalization.
Emergency crews closed the roadway for about four hours while they processed the scene. The Idaho State Police continues to investigate the incident with assistance from the Bear Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Bear Lake EMS, Bear Lake Fire, and Intermountain Life Flight.
