TREGO COUNTY — One person was injured in a motorcycle accident just before 4:30 p.m. Friday on U.S. 283.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that Russell L. McBryde, 56, of WaKeeney, was riding a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound approximately two miles north of Interstate 70 when he lost control. McBryde reportedly slammed on the brakes, causing the motorcycle to lay on its right side and slide over his right leg.
Emergency Medical Services transported McBryde to Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital. Authorities stated he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
No additional details regarding vehicle damage or lane closures have been confirmed. The incident remains under investigation by the Kansas Highway Patrol.
