Fatal Crash in Springfield Township Under Investigation
SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH — A fatal crash occurred on State Route 170, north of Calla Road, at 11:36 a.m. on February 20, 2026, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).
Seventy-eight-year-old Roseline Earwood of New Middletown was driving a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound when she crossed the center line and collided head-on with a northbound 2016 Ram Promaster 2500, operated by 20-year-old Elias Diamandis of Poland. Earwood was pronounced dead at the scene, while Diamandis sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Emergency response teams included Springfield Township Police, Fire, EMS, along with New Middletown and Poland Township Police. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Authorities reported that drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the incident.
Authorities have not announced any lane closures at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
