SULPHUR, Okla. (KOKH) — Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to a fatal motorcycle crash on Ball Park Rd. near Baldwin Rd. on Wednesday evening.
Authorities identified the driver as Jerry Bumpass, 43, from Sulphur. He was traveling eastbound on Ball Park Rd. when he lost control while attempting to turn onto Baldwin Rd.
According to the OHP, Bumpass accelerated as he lost control and collided with a metal gate. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The body was transported to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City for further examination.
Authorities have not reported any other vehicles involved or additional injuries. The investigation is ongoing, and no lane closures were noted following the incident.
