Albuquerque – A fatal motorcycle crash occurred on Albuquerque’s West Side Thursday night, involving two motorcycles and a vehicle.
The incident took place just before 8 p.m. at the intersection of Coors Blvd and Westside Dr NW. One motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second rider was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
According to investigators, a white Toyota RAV4 was heading south on Coors Blvd and entered the left turn lane at Westside Dr. The vehicle attempted to make a left-hand turn when it was struck by a white 2024 Suzuki and a red 2000 Yamaha motorcycle. The rider of the Suzuki was ejected and died, while the Yamaha rider was hospitalized.
Authorities reported no signs of impairment among any drivers. Witnesses indicated that the motorcycles were traveling at high speeds prior to the crash.
The Albuquerque Police Department’s Fatal Crash Unit is handling the investigation. Further details regarding lane closures and any towing operations will be released as the situation develops.
