Motorcycle Crash Leaves One Dead, One Injured in Aurora

AURORA, Colo. — A motorcycle crash late Saturday night at East Iliff Avenue and South Idalia Street resulted in one fatality and one injury.

According to the Aurora Police Department, officers responded to the collision shortly after it occurred. The initial investigation revealed that a motorcycle was traveling westbound on Iliff when a Honda CR-V made a northbound turn onto Idalia Street, colliding with the motorcycle.

The male motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the hospital, while a female passenger was reported to be in stable condition, authorities said.

The driver of the Honda CR-V fled the scene, but law enforcement later located the unoccupied vehicle a short distance away, APD reported.

The crash is currently under investigation, with speed considered a possible contributing factor. Aurora Police also noted that the motorcycle had been reported stolen in California, although there were discrepancies in the vehicle identification number.

No lane closures were reported, and no further details about injuries or the identity of the involved parties have been released at this time.
