(Rock Port) — A motorcycle accident in Atchison County left a Tarkio man seriously injured on May 29.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on U.S. Highway 136, about one mile west of Rock Port, at approximately 10:25 p.m. A 50-year-old male was driving a 2017 Harley Davidson eastbound in a construction zone with an uneven roadway when he crossed the centerline. The motorcycle slid, causing the driver to be ejected; the vehicle came to a stop in the westbound lanes facing north.
Authorities report that the driver was transported by Atchison Holt EMS to Grape Memorial Hospital in Hamburg for serious injuries. The Atchison County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved, and the investigation is ongoing. Lane closures were in effect for emergency response efforts.
