One rider dies in Kansas City motorcycle collision, police report.

Kansas City police: One motorcyclist dead, another critically injured in early Sunday crash.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. —

A collision involving two motorcycles occurred on Northwest Interurban Road just before 3:45 a.m. on Sunday.

According to the Kansas City Police Department, the incident took place near Northwest 128th Street.

A preliminary investigation indicated that a blue Harley-Davidson Ultra Glide and a silver Honda motorcycle were both heading north when the Honda failed to make a curve and crashed into the Harley.

The impact caused both motorcycles to leave the roadway, resulting in both riders being thrown off their bikes.

The Honda rider was pronounced dead at the scene, while the Harley rider sustained critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

As of Sunday, the Harley rider remains in critical condition.

Authorities reported that neither rider was wearing a helmet during the crash.
