Oregon motorcyclist dies in crash on Highway 140 in Jackson County, authorities report.

A 54-year-old Eagle Point man died Saturday evening from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash on Highway 140, according to Oregon State Police.

The collision occurred at 7:05 p.m. on July 18, 2026, near milepost 6. Authorities reported that Brian Jay Moore was riding a black Yamaha motorcycle westbound when he veered off the roadway and struck a guardrail.

Moore was pronounced dead at the scene, OSP confirmed.

Witnesses indicated the motorcycle was traveling at high speeds before the accident, according to police.

The investigation prompted lane closures for approximately three hours. OSP was assisted on scene by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Fire, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
