Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Motorcyclist in Huron Township Crash.

HURON TOWNSHIP — A 56-year-old man from Wisconsin was killed in a crash involving two vehicles on U.S. Route 250 late Tuesday night.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 10:10 p.m. near Fox Road. Richard Hartnell, of Kenosha, sustained fatal injuries at the scene.

Witnesses reported that Hartnell was attempting to walk across U.S. Route 250 when he was struck by a northbound Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by 66-year-old James Ritzenthaler of Fremont. Hartnell was then struck by a Toyota RAV4 driven by 35-year-old Andre Luckie of Norwalk.

Ritzenthaler suffered minor injuries and received treatment on-site, while Luckie was uninjured, authorities said.

Emergency response included assistance from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Perkins Township Police Department, Huron Fire Department, Erie County Coroner’s Office, and Wilsons Towing and Repair.

The crash is currently under investigation.
