Charges Pending Against Driver in Council Bluffs Motorcycle Crash

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — Charges are pending against a driver following a motorcycle crash that critically injured a 17-year-old on Saturday night. The incident occurred along North Broadway near Hoover Elementary School.

Authorities said a truck, driven by 52-year-old Jason Lee Evans, rear-ended a motorcycle operated by 17-year-old Hayden Baker. After the crash, Evans fled the scene but was later located by police, exhibiting signs of impairment.

A search warrant for Evans’ blood has been granted, and warrants for his arrest will be issued pending the results. Baker’s family has stated that doctors do not expect him to survive his injuries. He is currently a student at Lewis Central High School and is also enrolled at Iowa Western Community College.

Council Bluffs Police continue to investigate the incident.
