PITTSBURG COUNTY, OKLA. (KTUL) — A 17-year-old from Indianola died two days after a crash on the Indian Nation Turnpike on Tuesday.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the teen’s vehicle was disabled in the roadway due to a tire blowout. Another vehicle attempted to avoid the crash but collided with the driver’s side.
The driver of the second vehicle sustained injuries, though the severity has not been disclosed.
The teen was transported to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where they succumbed to injuries on Thursday around noon. Authorities confirmed the teen was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
