A multi-vehicle crash late Tuesday night in Prince George’s County, Maryland, resulted in three fatalities, according to authorities.
Police confirmed that a motorcycle and two vehicles collided near New Hampshire Avenue and Metzerott Road around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The deceased includes 22-year-old Elvin Martinez Hernandez of Hyattsville, and both occupants of the turning vehicle, 61-year-old Reddick Speight and 62-year-old Terri Stringfellow, both from Adelphi.
Two others sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital. They were passengers in a separate vehicle involved in the incident, authorities said.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Speight’s vehicle struck the motorcycle and another vehicle while attempting to make a left turn onto Metzerott Road, according to police. The scene was cleared and all lanes of New Hampshire Avenue reopened shortly before 6 a.m. on Wednesday, as reported by the WTOP Traffic Center.
Investigation into the crash is ongoing, and no further details were provided at this time.
