ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — A moped crash at the intersection of Zuni Road and San Pablo Avenue resulted in one fatality on June 6, 2026.
Authorities said the crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. when the moped, traveling south on San Pablo, entered the intersection against a red light at a high rate of speed. A sedan, traveling westbound on Zuni, attempted to brake but could not avoid the collision.
The moped driver was ejected from the vehicle and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The sedan’s driver and passenger were reported uninjured.
The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating the incident. Lane closures were reported in the area during the response and investigation.
