A 34-year-old Reno man died in a motorcycle crash Sunday night on SR341 north of Virginia City, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred July 12 at approximately 8:50 p.m. on SR341, just north of D Street in Storey County. Authorities reported that a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound when it lost control while navigating a left curve, veering off the roadway.
The motorcycle struck a guardrail, resulting in the operator being thrown from the bike. The motorcycle subsequently overturned and came to rest across the northbound travel lane. The driver, identified as Stephen Klein of Reno, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Speed and potential driver impairment are suspected factors in the crash. The Nevada Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team is leading the ongoing investigation.
