Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of South Ridge Ranch Co-owner Jacob Wagner in Hudson

HUDSON – Jacob Wagner, 47, co-owner of South Ridge Ranch, died following a motorcycle vs. truck collision at Hanley and Carmichael Roads on July 1 at 1:30 p.m.

According to the Hudson Police Department, Wagner was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul and later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the truck, a teenager, was not injured. Authorities confirmed that Wagner was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Wagner and his wife founded South Ridge Ranch in 2023, specializing in small-batch bacon sourced from Midwest farmers. The business gained local popularity at farmer’s markets and regional events.

Sheri Marnell, executive director of the St. Croix Valley Business Innovation Center, praised Wagner for his optimism and community spirit. “He transformed a side hustle into a thriving business,” Marnell said.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on July 18 at Ezekiel Lutheran Church, with visitation from 4-8 p.m. on July 17 at Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services.

Community members and local organizations are coordinating support for Wagner’s family during this challenging time. Further details will be shared by the Hudson Farmers Market.
