Rider Killed in Morning Crash on East Fillmore Street, According to CSPD.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KOAA) — A motorcyclist died following a crash with a vehicle on East Fillmore Street on Monday morning.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), the incident occurred around 8:00 a.m. just west of North Prospect Street. East Fillmore Street was closed for several hours for the investigation.

Authorities said a vehicle traveling eastbound on East Fillmore attempted a left turn into a parking lot and was struck by a westbound motorcycle, ejecting the rider.

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, who remained at the scene and suffered no injuries, is cooperating with the CSPD Major Crash Unit’s investigation; no charges have been filed as of now.

CSPD reported that speed is not considered a factor in the collision. The El Paso County Coroner will release the identity of the rider at a later date.
