Man, 59, Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on State Road 776 in Port Charlotte

Sarasota, Florida (June 27, 2023) – A 59-year-old man was killed Saturday morning after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle at an intersection in Port Charlotte, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Authorities say a sport utility vehicle with three people inside was southbound on Cornelius Boulevard, approaching a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 776.

At the same time, a motorcyclist was westbound on State Road 776 in the left lane. Preliminary investigation showed that the SUV turned right into the motorcycle’s path.

The SUV and the motorcycle collided, leaving the rider with fatal injuries.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the rider was not immediately released pending notification of family.

The incident remains under investigation.
