Ridgway Man Arrested in September Fatal Crash
A Ridgway man has been arrested in connection with a fatal motorcycle crash in Sweetwater County, Wyoming, on September 8.
Barrie Bloom, 68, was taken into custody at his residence on a warrant issued by Rock Springs for alleged homicide by vehicle. According to authorities, Bloom was driving a Sprinter van that collided with Steven and Emma (Darlene) Powell while they were riding their motorcycle. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene; they were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after the incident, but medical aid could not revive the victims. The Wyoming Highway Patrol is conducting the investigation, which remains ongoing. No additional details about the circumstances of the crash were available.
