WINFIELD | A Scott County man was killed and a woman injured in a motorcycle accident just after midnight Saturday night.
James D. “Jamie” Reagan, 50, was operating a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he collided with a 2014 Kia Sorento driven by 27-year-old Kayla R. Tamblin from Kentucky.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), Reagan was leaving a stopped position at the intersection of Bridges Road and U.S. Highway 27, while Tamblin was traveling south on U.S. 27. The report indicates that Reagan pulled out in front of the SUV, resulting in a collision that left both vehicles in the roadway.
Reagan was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and the report does not clarify if this would have affected the outcome. Tamblin, wearing a seatbelt, sustained injuries in the crash.
Emergency responders closed the highway for several hours to allow THP to reconstruct the accident scene.
Funeral arrangements for Reagan had not been announced as of late Monday evening.
