SEATTLE — A hit-and-run incident involving a red motorcycle left two pedestrians injured in south Seattle on Friday night.
The crash occurred around 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Martin Luther King Junior Way South and South Alaska Street, according to authorities.
Responding officers found a 59-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman injured. The man was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition, while the woman was taken to the same facility in critical condition with significant head trauma, according to the Seattle Fire Department.
Authorities stated that video evidence shows the motorcycle ran a red light and struck the couple while they were in a crosswalk before fleeing southbound on MLK.
The motorcyclist remains unidentified and at large, Seattle police reported. Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad will lead the subsequent investigation.
