MANSFIELD, Conn. (WFSB) – Multiple motorcycle and moped accidents occurred across Connecticut on Saturday night, resulting in injuries and road closures.
The first major incident took place on Mansfield City Road, where the motorcycle operator was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital. Authorities confirmed the response of emergency medical services.
A following crash occurred on I-395 southbound in Lisbon, shutting down all lanes between Exit 21B and Exit 18 for about an hour. Police reported suspected injuries, and crews were dispatched to assist at the scene.
A third motorcycle crash involved a collision with a car on I-84 eastbound in Union, near exit 73. EMS responded for suspected injuries, according to State Police.
Additionally, a car versus scooter crash happened in Waterbury at the intersection of West Main Street and Thomaston Avenue, resulting in one individual being hospitalized. Waterbury Police are actively investigating the incident.
According to the Connecticut State Police report from July, motorcycle rider fatalities surged by 112% compared to the previous year, with 17 deaths reported in 2026.
