A 23-year-old man died in a rollover crash on Highway 140 in Lake County late Saturday night, according to authorities.
Oregon State Police responded around 10:39 p.m. on August 8, 2026, to a single-vehicle crash near milepost 56. A gray Dodge Challenger driven by Juan Luis Perez Garcia, 23, of Tule Lake, California, was traveling eastbound when it left the roadway and rolled multiple times down an embankment.
Perez Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene, officials confirmed. A passenger, Cristo Jesus Herrera, 20, also from Tule Lake, was airlifted to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
The highway remained open during the investigation, according to OSP. Assistance was provided by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Lake County Search and Rescue, Lake County EMS, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
