A South Dakota man died in a crash in Castle Rock Township Tuesday morning, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The incident occurred around 11:20 a.m. when 60-year-old Duane Maag’s pickup truck, traveling west on 280th Street West, collided with a vehicle headed north on Highway 3. Maag was pronounced dead at the scene; authorities confirmed he was not wearing a seat belt.
The other vehicle, driven by a 16-year-old boy, was taken to Hennepin Healthcare with non-life-threatening injuries.
Emergency crews responded promptly, and the Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the incident. Traffic lanes were temporarily closed during the investigation and cleanup.
