South Dakota Motorcyclist Dies in WYO 450 Crash Near Gillette.

GILLETTE, Wyo. — A 60-year-old motorcyclist from South Dakota died in a two-vehicle crash on Wyoming Highway 450 on Tuesday, June 9, at approximately 12:11 p.m., according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Stacy Christianson was riding a Can-Am Spyder Roadster motorcycle eastbound near milepost 62.1 when he collided with a Ford F-250 truck pulling a flatbed trailer. The truck was preparing to turn, indicated by its right turn signal, and was slowing down prior to the crash.

Witnesses reported that Christianson failed to slow down in time, impacting the rear passenger side of the trailer. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Authorities stated that road conditions were dry, although the area was experiencing severe wind. The Wyoming Highway Patrol identified driver inattention as a potential contributing factor to the incident.

Emergency services responded to the scene, with details on any medical aid rendered remaining unconfirmed. The investigation is ongoing, and no lane closures were reported following the crash.
