SOUTHINGTON — A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash on state Route 322 Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
The incident occurred at 1:25 p.m. near Canal Street, according to a news release from the Southington Police Department.
The motorcyclist was transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, while no other injuries were reported.
The Southington Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, police said.
State Route 322, also known as the Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike, was closed for several hours but reopened shortly before 8 p.m., according to officials.
