A 48-year-old St. Anne man died Tuesday evening in a motorcycle-SUV collision on Illinois Route 1 at 4000 South Road.
Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner identified the victim as Charles Wickens, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed Wickens was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m., approximately two miles north of St. Anne. Illinois State Police Troop 5 responded to the incident, which involved two vehicles—a motorcycle and an SUV.
The roadway was closed for investigation and cleanup, reopening at approximately 11:45 p.m. No further information is currently available from State Police.
