GREENLEAF — A fatal single-vehicle crash occurred Wednesday night near Litchfield, resulting in two confirmed injuries.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the incident involved a northbound 2011 Chevrolet Malibu that left Minnesota Highway 22 and rolled over around 9:51 p.m. at the intersection with 180th Street in Greenleaf Township.
The driver, a 39-year-old woman from Litchfield, and her passenger, a 40-year-old woman from Hutchinson, were both in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Preliminary reports indicate at least one occupant was not wearing a seatbelt.
Authorities have not yet released the names of the individuals involved. An update on the investigation is anticipated Friday.
Responders included the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, Litchfield Fire and Police Departments, as well as multiple ambulance services: Mayo Ambulance, Cosmos Ambulance, Allina Ambulance, and Life Link III, who assisted at the scene.
