State Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Marcellus.

UPDATE: The motorcycle operator, Bruce A. Stratton, 55, of Farmington, NY, is hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries; passenger Karyn R. Stratton, 55, has died.

On June 21, 2026, at 10:10 a.m., New York State Police responded to a serious motor vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Route 20 and Slate Hill Road in Marcellus.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Morgan L. Heise, 18, of Chaumont, NY, driving a 2024 Subaru, failed to yield the right-of-way while turning eastbound, colliding with a 2014 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Both motorcycle riders were ejected; the female passenger was pronounced deceased, while the male operator remains hospitalized but stable.

Heise did not sustain injuries in the incident.

The New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is assisting in the investigation, which is ongoing. The scene was additionally managed by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, Marcellus Police Department, Marcellus Ambulance, and Marcellus Fire Department.
