Windsor Crash Claims Life of 26-Year-Old Motorcyclist
WINDSOR, CT— A 26-year-old man died following a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 91 Northbound on October 2 at approximately 8:28 p.m.
Authorities said the incident occurred near Exits 39 and 41, involving a 2010 Ducati Streetfighter motorcycle operated by Juan Miguel Martinez and a 2019 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven by 48-year-old Jesus Manuel Lopez-Torres from Vermont.
Preliminary investigations indicate Martinez was in the right lane when he collided with the rear left side of Lopez-Torres’s vehicle. Following the collision, the motorcycle crossed the median and struck the jersey barrier, ejecting Martinez onto I-91 Southbound.
Emergency Medical Services transported Martinez to Hartford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Lopez-Torres, who sustained no injuries, refused medical treatment at the scene and drove away with minor damage to his truck. The Ducati was towed due to disabling damage.
The crash is under investigation by Troop H of the Connecticut State Police. Authorities are urging witnesses or anyone with dashboard camera footage to contact Trooper First Class John Wilson at john.wilson@ct.gov.
