Senior Student in Critical Condition Following Motorcycle Accident in Yonkers
YONKERS, NY — A senior student from Archbishop Stepinac High School is in critical condition following a motorcycle accident on Wednesday morning.
According to Westchester County Police, the single-vehicle crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. as the 18-year-old rider was exiting the Bronx River Parkway onto the Cross County Parkway. The rider, identified as Alexis Pabellon from the Bronx, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Authorities confirmed he is currently in critical but stable condition. Paul Carty, principal of Archbishop Stepinac High School, informed parents via email about the incident, urging the community to keep Pabellon and his family in their thoughts.
Carty also stated that the school is providing support to students affected by the incident. Parent responses indicated a sense of heartbreak for the student and his family.
Emergency response agencies are currently investigating the crash. There are no reports of other vehicles or injuries. No lane closures were noted in the area following the incident.
