A multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 95 southbound in Providence resulted in multiple injuries on Thursday morning, authorities said.
The crash, involving three cars and a tractor-trailer, occurred around 8:30 a.m. near exit 23. Two individuals were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Rhode Island State Police.
Emergency responders worked to clear the scene, and the southbound lanes were closed for approximately one hour, leading to significant traffic delays. All lanes are now reopened as the investigation continues.
Authorities are urging drivers to exercise caution in the area and to anticipate potential residual delays.
