NANAKULI — Honolulu Police responded to a serious accident involving an e-motorcycle on Thursday night.
The crash occurred around 10:15 p.m. at the intersection of Farrington Highway and Lualualei Naval Road.
According to authorities, a 15-year-old male e-motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Farrington Highway while performing a wheelie. He subsequently broadsided a 49-year-old male driver making a left turn onto Lualualei Naval Road.
Emergency Medical Services transported the e-motorcyclist to a local hospital in critical condition. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
The 49-year-old driver remained at the scene and reported no injuries.
Authorities stated that speed, drugs, or alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
