EDDYVILLE, Ore. (KATU) — A 13-year-old motorcycle passenger sustained serious leg injuries after being struck by a patrol vehicle in Eddyville on Sunday.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident occurred when the motorcycle, driven by another 13-year-old, collided with the passenger side of an Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish and Wildlife patrol vehicle.
Authorities said the motorcycle was initially on private property before entering the roadway on Nashville Road.
Following the collision, both passengers on the motorcycle were thrown to the ground, with the passenger suffering a significant injury to his left leg and foot after being run over by the patrol vehicle.
The injured teen was transported to a hospital in Corvallis and is expected to make a full recovery.
The State Trooper involved reported the crash to dispatch and the investigation has since been handed over to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, which is working with OSP.
No additional details about the crash have been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
